It is reported that the weak seasonable demand in cold winter has hindered the construction market and the prices of construction steel when the most active rebar futures contract on Chinese Shanghai Futures Exchange traded 0.44% lower at RMB 3,650/ton by midday close. It has surged just 1% since October, compared with a 15% jump in September.

The day before, the price of Chinese rebar rose 0.3 percent after falling 0.5 percent during the previous week. Following a steady week, prices for Chinese H-beam steel closed to be flat.
